Here’s a new spot (at least for me) to find great street musicians: The Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica. It’s a Tuesday night; just imagine the weekends.

Alas, the power of suggestion. The other day, we watched a PBS special called “To Market, To Market…To Buy a Fat Pig.” The show featured some of the nation’s top markets and farmers markets, a few of which we had visited in the last month: Santa Fe’s market (on an off day); Cleveland’s Westside Market (second time, not a charm) and Santa Monica Farmers Market (on its off day). The show proved that the Wednesday market in Santa Monica was far larger and more diverse than its Saturday version… so, 375 miles later, here we are. Yes, it’s a great market. I would argue (as a former Nocal resident) that the Marin County Market at its height was equal… but this is a lot closer to us right now. |
